The gospel is not just a message to be memorized. It is not a set of doctrines to merely agree with. No, the gospel is something far more powerful, far more personal. It’s something to become. The gospel is incarnational. That means it doesn’t just come to us; it gets inside of us. It changes us from the inside out, shaping how we see ourselves, how we live, and how we walk through this world.

At the heart of this gospel is a breathtaking truth:
Our identification with Jesus Christ is complete.

We don’t just believe in what Jesus did. We believe that when He did it, we did it, too.

1. When He Died, We Died

Romans 6:6 says, “We know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body ruled by sin might be rendered powerless.”
This is not poetry. It is power. When Jesus hung on that cross, He was not just dying for you; He was dying as you. Your sin, your shame, and your brokenness were nailed to the tree with Him. That old you, the one the enemy tries to remind you of, died that day at Calvary.

2. When He Was Buried, We Were Buried

Romans 6:4 tells us, “We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death.”
Burial is final. It is a closing of a chapter. And the gospel invites us to leave our old story behind. Not just our sins, but our old ways of thinking, our regrets, and our failures. They were buried with Christ. Gone. Sealed. Finished.

3. When He Rose, We Rose

Ephesians 2:6 proclaims, “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.”
The resurrection is not just something that happened to Jesus. It’s something that happened to you. You’ve been given new life. Resurrection power now lives in you (Romans 8:11). You are no longer bound to live beneath your calling. You’ve been raised to walk in newness of life (Romans 6:4).

4. Now That He Reigns, We Reign

Romans 5:17 says, “Those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.”
This means we are not victims of life; we are victors in life. Because Christ is on the throne, and because we are in Him, we no longer have to live under the weight of sin, shame, or fear. We reign, not arrogantly, but confidently, in Him. His peace is ours. His authority is ours. His joy, His wisdom, and His strength are ours because we are His.

The Gospel Is Not Just Told. It’s Lived.

This is why the gospel must become more than words we recite. It must be the life we live. Jesus didn’t just come to save us; He came to share Himself with us. We don’t just walk beside Him—we walk in Him, and He in us (Colossians 1:27).

So when you rise each day, remember:
You died with Him.
You were buried with Him.
You rose with Him.
You reign with Him.

This is the gospel incarnated.
Not just something we speak... but something we are.

Let’s live it—boldly, humbly, and fully.
